Hong Kong Gold Exchange (HKGX)
The Hong Kong Gold Exchange (HKGX), also known as the Chinese Gold & Silver Exchange Society (CGSE), is a century-old institution in Hong Kong that facilitates the trading of physical gold, silver, and gold-related contracts. While HKGX does not regulate or offer retail forex trading, some of its products are indirectly linked to currency movements, particularly in gold-denominated contracts.
The Hong Kong Gold Exchange (HKGX / CGSE) plays a specialized role in Hong Kong’s financial ecosystem by offering precious metals contracts, some of which carry indirect currency exposure. While not a forex exchange, traders should be aware of multi-currency settlement risks and only deal with approved CGSE members.
